Post-Treatment Guide

You can live your life as you normally would after most facials. However, you might notice that after a deep cleansing facial treatment, the skin temporarily becomes sensitive to touch, chemical and the sun. Please ensure you read and follow the advice provided to protect your skin and prolong its glowing appearance:

‣ It is normal for the area that has been treated to feel tight and dry, so be gentle with your daily skin-care routine. A gentle cleanse using products that contain little to no alcohol can help keep acne at bay. Do not wash your face with hot water, this may cause excessive production of oil resulting in more pore blockage and acne.

‣ We recommend that you avoid using hand soap (high pH) to wash your face (low pH). Prolonged use of soap affects skin ability to self-restore. This eventually leads to dryness and irritation. Skin has barrier properties that we should protect.

‣ We recommend avoiding exercise, pool or sauna after a treatment because any heat, steam or sweat could add to the inflammation that’s already present. Ideally you want to avoid excessive sweating for 5-7 days during the healing process.

‣ We recommend do not wear any make up/self- tanning lotions in the areas treated during 5-7 days of the healing process.

‣ SPF40 should be worn whether you are outside, in and out of your vehicle or driving as well as if you are staying indoors. Even indoor lighting can cause risk of pigmentation on new healing skin.

‣ It’s usually sensible to have a treatment every two weeks or every month, depending on the severity of your acne.

‣ If possible, we recommend you take a high dose of Vitamin C supplements over the course of the healing process as this will help give your immune system a big boost. In turn this helps you to repair and also helps avoid hyperpigmentation.
